Parenting Teenagers: Field Experience!
In case you missed it in an earlier blog, I want to make the point again. Parents of teenagers are “Seasoned Veterans” in childrearing. They possess an amazing and invaluable skill. They have “Field Experience” – something that doctors, clinicians, therapists, and other “lettered” persons may not have … unless they too are raising teenagers in the 21st Century.
We parents develop a good bit of our expertise from daily frontline interaction with the teenagers we feed, clothe, nurture, tolerate and occasionally celebrate. We live with them at Ground Zero! That’s where the rubber hits the road … and sometimes splatters on the concrete!
